Ghana will host the Africa Governments Summit & Public Sector Innovation Awards 2026 (AGSPSIA 2026) on March 5, a premier continental platform recognising excellence, innovation, and leadership in public service across Africa.
Formerly known as the Africa Public Sector Leadership & Innovation Summit & Awards, AGSPSIA 2026 is organised by The Governance & Business Boardroom, a leading governance intelligence and leadership platform, in collaboration with the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) and The Governance Review – The Boardroom Magazine. The Summit is designed to accelerate institutional performance, policy innovation, and leadership effectiveness within Africa’s public sector.
Under the theme “Driving Institutional Excellence and Public Sector Transformation Across Africa,” the event will bring together Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Directors-General, Heads of Government Institutions, CEOs of State-Owned Enterprises, development partners, and governance experts to engage in high-impact dialogue on reform, resilience, and inclusive growth.

Mr Richmond A. Damoah, CEO of The Governance & Business Boardroom, emphasised the relevance of the Summit:
"At a time when citizens are demanding more efficient, transparent, and responsive governance, AGSPSIA 2026 provides a critical platform for leaders who are ready to rethink institutions, embrace innovation, and deliver measurable impact. This Summit is about shaping solutions, celebrating progress, and redefining what effective governance looks like for Africa."
The Summit will feature a high-level forum exploring digital transformation, institutional reform, and leadership excellence, alongside curated exhibitions and awards recognising trailblazers and reform champions. Key dialogues will include:
Public Sector Transformational Leadership: Building agile and visionary public institutions
The Deputy Leadership Advantage: Empowering deputy CEOs, Directors-General & MDAs for strategic continuity
Reinventing Public-Private Partnerships: Driving Africa’s development agenda
E-Government Platforms: Accelerating service delivery and citizen experience
Africa’s Green Energy Transition: Governance frameworks for a sustainable future
The awards night will celebrate institutions and individuals whose leadership, policies, and innovations are shaping Africa’s governance landscape.
AGSPSIA 2026 also aims to generate post-event governance intelligence, offering executive insights and policy reflections to support ongoing reform efforts across the continent.
The Summit provides a unique networking and learning opportunity for Africa’s public and private sector leaders, with practical insights to navigate the rapidly evolving digital and policy environment. Participants will also enjoy high-level networking, fine dining, and entertainment, making it a must-attend event for stakeholders committed to Africa’s transformation.
