Former Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has expressed full confidence that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will win the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) upcoming flagbearer election.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Mr. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu said his assurance comes from observations on the campaign trail, noting that the only question remaining is the margin by which the former Vice president will secure victory.
“I have no doubt that Bawumia will win the election. We have conducted our campaign, and based on what I have seen, it is clear who the winner will be. The only question is the margin of victory. A decisive win will strengthen his authority within the party and make post-primary reconciliation easier, allowing the NPP to unite behind its flagbearer,” he said.
He added that nothing on the ground suggests that Dr. Bawumia will not emerge victorious, stressing that a substantial win would enhance unity within the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
