The Government of Ghana has confirmed plans to revive the Cocoa Processing Company (CPC) to make it the country’s leading processor of cocoa.
At a press briefing, Finance Minister Dr. Ato Forson said, “Reviving CPC is a strategic step to strengthen our cocoa value chain. By processing more cocoa locally, we add value to our produce, create jobs, and ensure that Ghana benefits more from its resources.”
Dr. Forson emphasised that the revival will include operational upgrades, increased production capacity, and strategic reforms aimed at boosting efficiency.
“We envision CPC not just as a processor, but as a benchmark for sustainable and competitive cocoa processing in Ghana,” he added.
The Finance Minister says the initiative is part of a broader government plan to enhance local cocoa processing, reduce raw cocoa exports, and ensure that the benefits of Ghana’s cocoa industry are felt across the economy.
