A Legacy of Love: Family announces passing of Hon. Stanley Basil Bade Carboo
The family of the late Hon. Stanley Basil Bade Carboo, also known as Nene Carboo Opertoto II, has announced his passing at the age of 88.
According to a notice issued by the family, the respected statesman, father and leader died on January 22, 2026.
The announcement described him as a devoted family man and a pillar to many who encountered him throughout his life.
Hon. Carboo was widely admired for his warmth, wisdom and steady guidance within both family and community circles. Relatives say he lived a life defined by service, dignity and compassion — values they believe shaped generations around him.

Condolence arrangements
The family will receive sympathisers at Labone, 11 Dade Close (GL-043-6481) on the following days:
Tuesdays: 9:00 am –6:00 pmm
Sundays: 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Further funeral arrangements are expected to be announced in due course.
The family has expressed gratitude to well-wishers for the outpouring of support and prayers during this period of mourning, describing the late Hon. Stanley Basil Bade Carboo as leaving behind “a legacy of love.”
