The Member of Parliament (MP) for South Tongu in the Volta region, Maxwell Kwame Lukutor, has launched a youth apprenticeship initiative aimed at equipping his constituents with practical skills and expanding employment opportunities across the district.
The programme, branded “Man for Chop”, was unveiled on Monday, February 16 in Sogakope.
It is designed as a structured intervention to support young people from diverse educational backgrounds by providing access to vocational training and pathways to economic empowerment.
Addressing residents during the launch, the MP underscored his longstanding commitment to creating sustainable opportunities for the youth of South Tongu.

He noted that empowering young people with employable skills remains central to his development agenda, describing the initiative as a forward-looking response to unemployment challenges within the constituency.
Mr Lukutor emphasised that the apprenticeship scheme is not a one-off exercise but a sustained programme intended to build self-reliance and long-term economic resilience among beneficiaries.
The full rollout of the initiative is scheduled to commence in March 2026, with applications now open to interested constituents.
Application forms can be accessed via online platforms and at the Office of the MP in Sogakope.
The deadline for submission of applications is 10th March 2026. Prospective applicants have been urged to complete and submit their forms before the closing date.
The initiative is expected to serve as a catalyst for skills development and entrepreneurship, reinforcing broader efforts to stimulate local economic growth in South Tongu.
