Savage 4 has released “Rhythm & Ghrime” featuring UK grime artiste Novelist and global music executive Smallgod, marking what is being described as a defining moment for Ghana Grime, also known as GHRIME.
The high-energy collaboration serves as the second release from the GHRIME Riddims series under the broader Grime Frequency project, a body of work created over seven intensive days in Accra during the festive season.
Produced by Novelist and executive-produced by Smallgod, “Rhythm & Ghrime” fuses Ghanaian street cadence with a UK grime foundation. The track draws inspiration from the iconic “Rhythm & Gash”, one of the most influential instrumentals in UK grime history, previously championed by pioneers such as Skepta, Jme and Central Cee.
By reinterpreting the energy of that classic and infusing it with Ghanaian grit, Savage 4 seeks to establish the sonic DNA of GHRIME, a hybrid sound blending Ghanaian rhythm, drill intensity and grime’s raw tempo. The result is an anthem that connects Accra and London while introducing a new wave to global audiences.
As the second instalment of the Ghrime Frequency rollout, “Rhythm & Ghrime” sets the tone for a structured series of releases aimed at defining, documenting and exporting GHRIME as a distinct genre and cultural movement rooted in Ghana, with global ambition.
“Rhythm & Ghrime” is now available on all major streaming platforms. Listen here.
