Vodafone Ghana Foundation, the charitable arm of Vodafone Ghana, has donated life-support devices and other critical medical equipment to the Taifa Polyclinic in Accra.
This is to help improve healthcare delivery to residents of Taifa and its surrounding communities.
The equipment which includes sphygmomanometers, oxygen cylinders, suction machine with tubes, medicine trolley, bedside lockers, delivery set and screens were presented to the resource-challenged community clinic.
Speaking to the media during the presentation at the Polyclinic, Finance Director at Vodafone Ghana, Kenneth Gomado said “we hope that this donation will enable the hospital save more lives and support the Taifa community and its environs. Vodafone Ghana Foundation is extremely passionate about Health and has introduced several impactful healthcare initiatives to various communities across the country to improve access to quality healthcare’’.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Polyclinic, Hospital Administrator at the Taifa Polyclinic, Sophia Oware, said she was excited about the aid Vodafone has provided them.
“We have lacked these facilities and that has been a worry to all of us here. I would like to express our sincere gratitude to Vodafone Ghana for this kind gesture which would go a long way to save many lives,” she added.
The Foundation, since 2009 has introduced several impactful healthcare initiatives to various communities across the country in a bid to improve access to quality healthcare.
These include Healthline, the multiple award-winning CSR initiative; and Healthfest which provides free quality health care to communities across the country.
