The Canada Ghana Chamber of Commerce (CanCham) will convene chief executives, financiers, policymakers and investors at CEOs’ Connect 2026 on Thursday, 20 August 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, Accra, for a high-level business dialogue on how Ghanaian and Canadian companies can raise the capital they need to scale beyond domestic markets.
Held under the theme ‘Financing the Future: Capital Strategies for Cross-Border Business Expansion’, this year’s edition coincides with the Chamber’s 10th anniversary and comes at a defining moment for Ghana’s economy. As government pursues an agenda to reset the economy, restore investor confidence and roll out the 24-Hour Economy programme, the conversation among business leaders has shifted from whether to expand to how to finance that expansion.
A panel that spans the full financing chain
The centrepiece of the morning is a high-level panel discussion assembling the institutions that sit at every point of the capital and market-access chain in Ghana and across the continent:
- Abena Amoah, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Ghana Stock Exchange
- Simon Madjie, Chief Executive Officer, Ghana Investment Promotion Centre
- Dr. Mary Awusi, Chief Executive Officer, Ghana Free Zones Authority
- Cynthia E. Gnassingbe-Essonam, Director, Private Sector Engagement and Communications, AfCFTA Secretariat
- Calleb Osei, Country Chief Financial Officer, Guaranty Trust Bank Ghana
Between them, the panellists represent domestic capital markets, foreign direct investment promotion, export-oriented manufacturing, continental market access under the African Continental Free Trade Area, and commercial bank lending, giving delegates a single sitting in which to test their growth plans against the people who actually price, approve and enable capital.

The programme will also feature special remarks from distinguished guests of honour, including senior government officials from Ghana and Canada, industry leaders and the leadership of the Chamber.
Distinguished Guest of Honour
- Julius Debrah, Chief of Staff, Office of the President, Republic of Ghana
Special Guests
- Dr. Johnson Pandit Asiama, Governor, Bank of Ghana
- Myriam Montrat, Canadian High Commissioner to Ghana
From conversation to transaction
The panel will be followed by a B2B networking, in which participating companies hold targeted meetings to explore partnerships, investment and trade collaborations. Over the years, this second part of the morning is what has turned CEOs' Connect from a talking shop into a deal room.
Discussions across the morning will centre on five areas: access to capital for business expansion, including structured and blended finance; investment and private equity opportunities, spanning venture capital, development finance institutions and institutional investors; cross-border partnerships and joint ventures that unlock markets, technology transfer and capital; the policy and regulatory environment for foreign direct investment; and high-growth sectors including energy, agribusiness, technology, manufacturing, infrastructure and fintech.
Ten years of economic diplomacy
CEOs’ Connect has grown into one of the most closely watched private-sector platforms linking Ghana and Canada. As CanCham marks a decade of operations, the 2026 edition is positioned as both a milestone and a statement of intent: that the next phase of the relationship will be measured in capital deployed and ventures formed, not communiqués issued.
“Ghanaian businesses are not short of ambition; what they are often short of is the right kind of capital, structured on the right terms,” said Mrs. Edwina Atta-Sonno, CEO, Canada Ghana Chamber of Commerce. “CEOs’ Connect 2026 puts the people who allocate that capital in the same room as the people who need it. In our tenth year, that is exactly the kind of practical economic diplomacy we want to be known for.”
The event is supported by Ad-Precision Ltd, Prestige Developers and TSG Drive, with complimentary health screening provided by The Bank Hospital.
