Nana Akomea has taken an early lead in the race for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) First Vice Chairman position, emerging as the most favourably rated candidate in the latest poll conducted by Global InfoAnalytics.

Akomea recorded a net favourability score of 68%, putting him two percentage points ahead of Dr Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, who secured 66%. Nana Boakye followed with 62%, while Richard Ahiagbah posted 46%.

Alhaji Osman Masawudu-Bugga and Abena Pokuaa Boatey completed the list of personalities featured in the poll, recording net favourability ratings of 45% and 41% respectively.

The results provide a positive early boost for Akomea, particularly as he entered the contest relatively late compared with some of the other contenders.

His rating indicates that he has already built significant goodwill among respondents despite the timing of his campaign.

With a 68% net favourability rating, Akomea now enters the final stretch of the contest as one of the leading figures to watch. The poll comes ahead of the NPP’s national executive elections scheduled for October 3, when delegates will decide who takes up key positions in the party’s next leadership structure.
