A German Company, Schmidt Kommunal-Fahrzeuge, on Friday demonstrated a modernized way of managing waste to Municipal and District Chief Executives in the Upper East Region.
The company urged the Municipal Assemblies to consider adopting the equipment to manage their waste to improve the sanitation situation in the region.
The chief executives, who met in Bolgatanga for the demonstration were taken through a film documentary, which illustrated how Germany began managing her waste in the 1900s to date.
Mr Lutz Krumnik, Managing Director of the company asked the community to be committed to the fight against poor sanitation.
He noted that there was the need to keep the environment clean as dirt could destroy the image of the country and even the lives of the people.
Mr Krumnik said sanitation laws must be enforced to ensure a clean environment always and advised government not to privatize waste companies because they might not do the work well due to their interest at making maximum profit.
Mr Mark Woyongo, Upper East Regional Minister thanked the managing Director of the Company and said the proposal would be considered.
