The Argentine forward talked about his friendship with Dani Alves, and says the squad have varied lives off the field and away from football,
Lionel Messi has opened up about life in the Barcelona dressing room.
The Argentine, who scored his 400th goal for the Catalan giants at the weekend, insists he is a 'jeans and t-shirt' person, and that all the players get on well.
He admits they don't go out as a squad huge amounts, because of the players' obligations away from football, with many, including Messi, having children.
He also reveals his friendship with Brazilian fullback Dani Alves, who he shared the right wing with when he first broke into the Barca side.
“Everyone’s got their own style,” Messi told FourFourTwo. “Everybody’s different. I think I’m just normal, jeans and T-shirt. We all get on very well in the dressing room. I’ve always been close with Dani Alves, since we shared the right wing together when I first broke into the Barcelona first-team.
“We’ve spent many years together, both on and off the field. Day-to-day, we’ve got a very strong relationship, which is also of a great help on the field; it means we understand each other’s games very well.
“As a squad we try to do things socially. It varies, because everybody has their own time away from the pitch to spend with their family. We all have different obligations, many of us have children who we pick up from school or go to bed early – anything to do with your children always takes time. When we can, we get together, but everyone has their own life.”
Messi's strike against Valencia helped ensure Barca remained on top of La Liga, two points ahead of Clasico rivals Real Madrid.
He also starred as they comfortably saw of Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of the Champions League, to leave a league and European double firmly on the cards.
