The Ghana FA is set to announce either of Botswana or Togo as friendly opposition for the Black Stars ahead of their Afcon 2017 qualifier in June.
Reports on Wednesday had it that the football governing body had chosen Togo at their Executive Committee meeting, but FA spokesman Ibrahim Sannie Daara says the announcement is yet to be made.
”It is true we have been in discussions with the two countries. Nothing had been concluded but hopefully, we would have a meeting this morning and settle on one of them. When that is done, an official announcement will follow it,” Daara told Supersport.
All these are part of preparations for Ghana's hosting of Mauritius in the Afcon 2017 qualifiers on June 14.
FA sources say due to the geographical proximity of Botswana to Mauritius and a seeming similar style, it is likely the Southern Africans will be chosen ahead of Togo.
The Black Stars squad is expected next week, after which camping is supposed to start on June 1.
