Ghana skipper Lawrence Lartey remains confident of grinding a favourable result away to Congo in the qualifiers to the Caf U-23 Championship
The Black Meteors laboured to a 1-0 first leg win over the Red Devils through a 44th minute strike by winger Enoch Ebo Andoh in Accra on Saturday.
Congo, led by former Ghana coach Claude Le Roy proved a strong side and the slender first leg outcome has raised some apprehension ahead of the return encounter next weekend.
But the AshantiGold centre-back remains positive about Ghana’s chances on May 30.
“It was a very tough game because they also came here very prepared. They really gave us a tough match and I think they are a very good side,” Lartey admitted after the game.
“The result was not what we were looking for because we were hoping to score more goals but it didn’t happen that way.
“I still believe we can go there and get the result we need in order to qualify to the next round - just the way they came here to play, we can also go there to play and qualify.”
The winner of this tie on aggregate faces Nigeria in the final qualifying round.
