A man in his mid-fifties has been gunned down by unknown assailants at Nkonya Ahenkro in the Volta region.
The deceased said to be an elder of the Nkonya Ahenkro traditional area was working on his farm Monday morning when he was shot.
Paramount chief of the area Nana Okortor Kofi III told Joy News the shooting is not linked to the long-standing land dispute between the people of Nkonya and Alavanyo.
Speaking to Joy News Tuesday morning, Hohoe Divisional commander chief superintendent Joseph Antwi Gyawu also said preliminary investigations suggest the shooting is an isolated one.
He said they are working to bring the perpetrator to book but urged the public to assist the police with investigation.
In February this year, a 47-year-old man, Peter Addo, was also shot in his farm.
