National Democratic Congress (NDC) constituency Chairman for Ejisu Juabeng in the Ashanti region, Eugene Agyarko says members of his constituency will be disappointed should the sacked Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) be given additional term to serve.
According to him, Yamoah Ponko’s four-year term was nothing to write home about adding that, during his period as the MCE, he put no effort in ensuring the development of the Municipality.
“What did he do with all the money he was given during his tenure in office? He should come and tell us. Even a toddler can do more than he did” he said on Accra-based Okay FM.
He said they have spoken to the President not to appoint Yamoah Ponko again, but if he decides to give him another chance, he the constituency Chairman will take a personal decision.
According to him, it took the intervention of President Mahama to help them with some of their developmental projects in the Municipality adding that they are not happy with how the former MCE went about his work when he was in office.
Yamoah Ponko was appointed by the late John Evans Atta Mills as MCE on May 29, 2011 and sacked by President Mahama in July 5, 2015.
The Regional Coordinating Council chaired by the Regional Minister, Peter Anarfi, has therefore been asked to take over the running of the Municipal until a new MCE is appointed.
