A Sunyani High Court has ordered a recount of the June 13 New Patriotic Party Parliamentary primaries for the Sunyani East Constituency.
The primary was won by the incumbent Member of Parliament Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh beating his rival, Mr. George Kumi, by just one vote.
The results have been contested by the losing candidate who has ordered a recount.
The recount is currently underway at the Brong Ahafo Police HQ in Sunyani, Joy News can confirm.
Present at the recount are Lawyer for the Petitioner, Twumasi Awuah, lawyer for the Respondent Asumah Chiremeh and the lawyer for the NPP Nana Yaw Osei.
