A 13-year-old boy at Ajumako in the Central Region has been allegedly manhandled by police.
Isaac Botwe’s parents told Joy News’ Beatrice Adu their son was beaten to a pulp, handcuffed and dumped on the streets by five police officers two weeks ago after he was accused of being part of a group fomenting trouble in the area.
Youth in the area had earlier clashed with the police when they were stopped from going on a keep fit exercise two weeks ago.
Isaac Botwee told Beatrice he was arrested and beaten mercilessly when the police arrived in the community even though he told them he was not part of the group.
He said police hit his legs and other parts of his body repeatedly with batons and the guns they were carrying.

He was later handcuffed and taken to the police station.
He explains that although his leg got swollen due the beatings, he was kept at the station without medical care.
He said he limped back home after police dropped him off on the streets.
Attempts to reach the police have not been successful.
