Editor-in-chief of the Crusading Guide Newspaper has welcomed attempts to injunct the airing of the most sought after Anas video on corrupt judges but says the attempts are an "exercise in futility".

Kweku Baako Jnr told Joy News it is well within the rights of the embattled judges to seek redress in the court of law and they must be granted those rights.

His comments follow attempts by some judges caught on tape trading justice for money, goats and other commodities to stop Anas Aremeyaw Anas from airing the video he took two years to compile.

The investigative journalist went undercover in an institution perceived to be corrupt and came with video evidence of real corruption by judges and their allied officials.

In all there were 12 High Court judges, 22 Lower Court judges, over a 100 court officials involved in the biggest scandal to have hit the third estate of the realm.

A few of the judges however proved incorruptible, Anas pointed out.

Already 22 of the incriminated judges have been suspended in a swift attempt by the Chief Justice to restore confidence in a battered institution.

But some of the judges will not be pushed aside without a fight. Justice Paul Dery who claimed Anas' Tiger Eye invaded his privacy is fighting tooth and nail to stop the airing of the video.

He has filed an injunction at the High Court seeking to restrain Anas from airing the video.

He has also filed another injunction against owners of the Accra International Conference Centre, where  the video was expected to be aired.

His actions have triggered some controversy with some lawyers supporting his action, whilst others are mocking it.

Kweku Baako Jnr Editor of the Crusading Guide Newspaper who mentored Anas Aremeyaw Anas in an interview with Joy News said Justice Dery must be allowed his right to go to court.

"There is absolutely nothing wrong with those who are in court invoking the law relative to their right.

"In principle nobody should be worried with what justice Dery and all the rest and their lawyers are doing in court.

"Why are we in a democracy?They are entitled to exercise that option. They have gone to the right forum. The laws of the country give them those rights. Nobody should be worried; it is their right," he said.

He said it is now left with the court to take a decision on the injunction application.

But Kweku Baako Jnr appears unfazed by the action of Justice Dery and the possible outcome of the court.

"Can anybody place an injunction on the sky? We are in the world of technology.. Can any court stop people from seeing something in the sky? Can anybody injunct the international media when it is not emanating from the person you are litigating against?

"It is an exercise in futility," he stated.

Kweku Baako would rather the embattled judges go before the Chief Justice committee to critically cross examine Anas.

"It is in their eternal self interest," he added.
