Armed robbers have raided the Central Region office of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The robbers – five in number- stormed the office at dawn on Sunday and made away with a television set.
Joy News’ regional correspondent Richard Kwadwo Nyarko was at the office and reports that the robbers wore masks and wielded guns when they carried out the operation.

He said the robbers dismantled metal fittings used to secure the doors and windows and invaded the office of Allotey Jacobs, Regional Chairman of the party.
The office of the regional director of election’s office was also raided and turned it into a landfill.

It is not clear who or the motive behind the attack but Allotey Jacobs is shocked at the development and suspects the party’s opponents are responsible for the raid.
According to him, real robbers would not only scatter papers and leave. They would have stolen computers and other valuable items that were at the office.

“It looks like the target was my office and that of the regional director of election. I am inclined to believe that they came in to find out information regarding out biometric registration”, he said
They should not think that robbing us will hinder our progress, he said.
