Hundreds of children in Kumasi on Monday had the fun of their lives at the first-ever kids’ party dedicated to celebrating cakes and ice-cream to mark Founders’ Day.
Your super station, Luv fm, organized the novelty event, which saw overwhelming patronage at the Kentinkrono Bani Villa Function Grounds.
Celebration of the Founders Day took another dimension when kids from various schools recited beautiful poems to eulogize Ghana’s departed heroes.
Memories of Ghana’s first President, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah took center-stage as many of the kids relived his legacy in various performances.
Others battled it out in games including soccer, swimming and musical chairs, with the very young ones having a good time in the bouncy castles.
After all the games and fun, it was time to taste an assortment of cakes and ice-creams on display at the grounds.
Certainly, a memorable moment for children who are already calling for a repeat.
“I am really having fun; all my friends who couldn’t come have really missed a lot. They should be here when it is organized again,” an excited holiday maker told Luv News.
Excited parents implored Luv FM to organize more of such events and programs for children.
Events and Promotions Executive at Multimedia-Kumasi, Louis Lamis, explains there are plans to institute an annual festival of iced-cream and cakes.
“We want to grow this and make it a festival of iced-creams and cakes but, of course, it should start from one, then move to two,” he said.
As part of the 20th anniversary of Multimedia, he promised more exciting events till end of year.
