Pressure group Let My Vote Count Alliance has dismissed assertions it is stampeding the Electoral Commission to, at all cost, compile a new voters' register.
Spokesperson of the group Ibrahim Adjei told Joy News they are only enriching the democratic process by engaging with the appropriate stakeholders.
The group said it cannot afford to remain silent about a bloated register only to lose confidence in the electoral process in the 2016 elections.
Members of the Let My Vote Count Alliance are demanding that a new register be compiled, alleging the existing one is compromised.
There are thousands of minors, thousands of triple registrations in the register, Ibrahim Adjei alleged.
After violent demonstration with the police, the group has resorted to advocacy, a move which has seen them meet two ex-presidents -John Rawlings and John Kufuor- and other influential persons in the country.
Mr Rawlings said if a new register is what will ensure confidence in the 2016 elections, the country must compile one.
His counterpart, Mr Kufuor said the EC is answerable to the people and must heed the call for a new voters' register.
It is not clear yet who is next on the radar of the Alliance but Mr Adjei said they are bent on seeing many other influential stakeholders across the country to build a groundswell of support for a new register to be compiled.
"A clean new register will give full confidence to every candidate, every party, every parliamentary aspirant," he said, adding "the EC must take a second look and allow a level playing field."
