Joy FM, with support from individuals and corporate institutions, on Sunday put smiles on the faces of over 15,000 under-privileged people at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park in Accra.
The young mothers and their children were provided lots of food, drinks clothes, counseling and medical care.
The annual event is in its 14th year and is one of many ways through which the station gives back to the society.
Earlier Joy News’ George Wiafe spoke to some of the individuals who volunteered their services to the success of the event.
“Charity is one of the basic principles of the Christian faith so if I decide to be here on Easter Sunday (instead of going to church) just to share my love with someone I think I will be creating an impression on the hearts of many of these children who are not as privileged as ourselves,” one volunteer said.
Organizers of the event say this year’s edition was the most successful.
Chairman of the Easter Soup Kitchen Planning Committee, Max Fuga, told Joy News patronage was overwhelming.
