The Ashanti Regional Voltarian Coordinating Council (VCC), has underscored the need for Ghanaians to be tolerant of divergent views to enhance socio-economic growth of the country.
It said Ghana was a beacon of hope for the West African Sub-region as the nation had over the years, successfully upheld good governance, rule of law and democracy.
The citizenry should therefore protect this enviable record by adhering to lifestyles and practices that would help foster socio-economic and political stability.
This was contained in an Easter message signed by the President, Togbe Mawufeame Fugah, and issued in Kumasi on Sunday.
It said: "our destiny lies in our own hands in protecting our infant democracy and the gains made so far to benefit the masses."
Whilst wishing Ghanaians a prosperous Easter, the message advised the nation's leaders to always seek the welfare of the people in the discharge of their duties for the effective utilization of state resources.
