A military officer in the area, who pleaded anonymity, confirmed the incident and said the people in the area seem to be taking to what he called “silent killing” which will not draw the attention of security personnel there. A witness told Joy News Haruna on a daily basis plied the route on which he was murdered. According to the witness, the assailants, numbering about four, attacked the deceased while he was heading to another part of town.
