The Latter Day Saints Church has organised a gospel musical festival to inspire the youth to embrace moral sanity as a virtue to facilitate national development.
The event, which was organised by the Christianborg Stake of the Church, involving eight adult and seven youth choirs drawn from the Greater Accra region, was on the theme: "Unifying The Congregation and Motivating them To Do What is Righteous."
The First Counsellor to the President of the Stake and John Koranteng, Mr John Buah told journalists that the festival was aimed at bringing up children in the Christian manner through inspirational music to enable them contribute their quota towards Ghana's forward march.
Mr Buah said engaging the youth in a more productive manner was the best means to wean them from morally deviant behaviour such as sexual promiscuity.
Adenta First Ward of the church received the overall best adult choir while the Christianborg Ward was adjudged the best youth choir. They received a trophy each as their prizes. Mrs Miriam Massaquor took home the prize for the best conductor.
