Some players in the microfinance industry maintain compliance to directives from the Bank of Ghana would be important in helping restore confidence in the industry.
Public confidence in the sector has dwindled over the years following repeated incidents of some companies absconding with customer-deposits.
In recent times, DKM has been one of such companies that have received some backlash for its failure to compensate its investors.
Chief Executive Officer of the Albrim Group, Abdul Majeed Peregrino Brimah tells Joy Business microfinance companies must diligently follow laid-down procedures.
“We are licensed to handle a certain segment of the market. We must not go beyond activities the Bank of Ghana has mandated us to undertake,” he indicated.
Chief Executive Officer of the Albrim Group, Abdul Majeed Peregrino Brimah spoke with Joy Business after his company donated items worth GHC12, 000 to the La General Hospital and the Princess Marie Louis Children Hospital.
The company presented three weighing scales, three drip stands and 1 Steam Autoclave to the La General Hospital.
The steam Autoclave would help sterilise equipment used in the Maternity ward of the Hospital.
At the Princess Marie Louis Children’s Hospital, the Albrim Group presented some 100 plastic chairs, packs of surgical gloves, syringes and needles, boxes of baby diapers and about 50 pieces of baby clothes.
