Hearts of Oak assistant coach Yaw Preko has lauded his side’s performance after their 3-0 win over Wassaman United in the FA Cup.
The Phobians continued their fine run in all competitions and more importantly gave chance to players who had played little or no part in their fine league start.
Defender Isaac Baadu, Midfielder Leonard Tawiah and strikers Kwame Kizito and Kenneth Okoro all made their first start in the season.
Preko, who took charge of the club in the absence of Kenichi Yatsuhashi, believes the players impressed on the day.
“We took the game very serious. We had a few players coming back from injury,” he told Adom FM Sports.
“The likes of Kizito, Ollenu and Okoro had a chance to showcase what they are capable of.”
“Every player has to fight his way back into the team because the train is moving.”
“We psyched them up because we knew Wassaman were coming into the game with good form having won their three previous matches.”
“We did not take it lightly. We went in for the kill and thank God we did it.”
Hearts take on Wa All Stars in matchday six of the Ghana Premier League.
