Employment and Labor Relations minister, Haruna Iddrisu has said the current voters register by the Electoral Commission (EC) has seen a marked improvement in ensuring credibility in comparison with previous registers.
"Political parties must recognize that the EC is an independent creation of the Constitution and not subjected to the control and direction of any person including the president, therefore, in solve of murmuring and bemoaning I think that they collaborate with the E.C to deliver a credible outcome of an election," Mr. Iddrisu said.
Haruna Iddrisu who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale South constituency was addressing a meeting of branch executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in his constituency.

According to the minister, the current voters register has had a marked improvement of credibility from the 2000 and 2004 voters register that won the New Patriotic Party (NPP) power.

The NPP and the Let My Vote Count Alliance (LMVCA) have been piling pressure on the EC demanding for new voters register saying the current voters register is not credible.

Some 640 branch and constituency executives of the Tamale South constituency attended the annual review meeting to do a post-mortem of the last general elections and to strategize for the 2016 elections.
The Tamale South legislator also said he is optimistic Ghanaian will give President Mahama the sacred traditional eight years as president in other for him to continue with his programs and visions.
Party members in the constituency committed to guaranteeing some 100,000 voters in the constituency voters register before the conduct of the November 7 election and ensure 100% victory for President Mahama in every polling station.
In another development, Mr. Iddrisu commissioned an electrification project in Gunaayili and Kanbonyili farming communities in the constituency which means 45 communities out of 48 have been connected to the national grid.
