Two persons are reported dead in the West Mamprusi District of the Northern Region.
It follows the opening of the spillways of the Bagre Dam in neighbouring Burkina Faso.
Upper East Regional Minister, Mark Woyongo who is touring the banks of the White Volta, confirmed the deaths and said the two were carried away by the flood waters at a village called Kpasingbe.
He said the impact of the full-opening of the dam is getting very serious and dangerous for lives and property.
According to the Minister, the water has submerged most communities and the level is increasing every minute.
"...In my region nobody has lost his life so far. But in the Northern Region two people have lost their lives. They were carried by the flood water," he said.
He said there was no possibility of people retrieving anything with the water submerging almost all valuable items.
