The police at Weija have arrested a 40-year-old man for secretly burying his late wife without the consent of the wife’s family.
The man whose is popularly known as Efo is reported to have buried his wife beside a manhole in the house they live in at New Bortianor in the Ga South Municipality in the Greater Accra Region.
Accra based Onua FM’s Maxwell Otoo who has been following the story reports that Efo claimed he buried the wife because he had no money to organize a befitting burial service for her.
The deceased who was sick was responding to treatment at a nearby hospital but due to the husband’s inability to pay the hospital bills, he decided to bring the woman home.
However, few days after bringing her home, the wife died. Efo therefore took it upon himself to ensure that the wife is buried according to his ability without informing the woman’s family.
Meanwhile, Onua News has gathered that the family of the deceased have besieged the Weija Police station Wednesday morning demanding that the relative’s body is exhumed.
