New Edubiase United caused a major upset in week 9 of the Ghana Premier League as they beat Asante Kotoko by a lone goal at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The result brought to an end a three game winning streak of the Porcupines under Michael Osei and also dampen Kotoko spirits ahead of their Super 2 clash against Hearts of Oak next week.
Prince Antwi got the only goal of the game in the 21sr minute when he picked the pocket of Ahmed Adams and calmly slotted the ball past Ernest Sowah against the run of play.
However, young striker Dauda Mohammedwill have nightmares of the game after was presented with a glorious chance to level the scoring but unbelievably ballooned the ball from inside the box.
Anthony Commey’s side displayed a well-composed game against a nervous-looking Kotoko side and repelled all attacks by the Kumasi side.
The win was the second successive win for Edubiase against Kotoko in Kumasi and their first away win this season.
The Porcupines however have now tasted their first defeat at home this season and could be 9 points behind leaders Wa All Stars should they Wa side win and 7 points behind Hearts should the Phobians beat Ashantigold.
