Bechem United CEO Kingsley Osei Bonsu says new coach Manuel Zacarias will be on probation for three months.
The Portuguese trainer arrived in Accra last Saturday to seal the move which will see him replace coach Kwame Opuni.
But Kingsley Bonsu popularly known as Lord Zico says past experiences with expatriate coaches have triggered their decision to put Zacarias on probation.
He will be on probation for about three months and if everything goes on well we will sign him,” he told Joy Sports in an exclusive interview
“We are taking this decision because of past experiences- at first expatriate coaches we hired wanted us to relocate from Bechem because they felt the facilities here were not up to what they worked with from wherever they are coming from.
“That aside a coach will come and you will see he will not have respect for management or even the technical team he will be working with so based on this past experiences we have taken a decision that he will be on probation.”
Zacarias has coaching experience from Bahrain where succeeded with a top-flight side but had scouted for FC Porto and acted as assisted manager at Nacional in Portugal. He also managed Braga's second string side in the Portuguese second-tier league.
His experience on the African continent includes managing Guinean side CI Kamsar.
