A circuit court at Aflao has sentenced a fetish priest to five years imprisonment in hard labour for inflicting multiple knife wounds on his neighbour on suspicion that the victim was the wife's lover.
Cudjoe Ahiaba, 50, pleaded guilty to causing unlawful harm.
Inspector Josephine Azuka told the court presided over by Captain Martin Obeng-Ntim (rtd) that Ahiaba and Francis Agbedo, complainant were neighbours in Dekpor-Horme, near Dzodze in Ketu district.
She said on the night of Saturday May 5, this year, the complainant while at a funeral went into the bush to go to toilet.
Inspector Azuka said the convict, with a flashlight trailed the complainant into the bush and accused him of having a love relationship with the (Ahiaba's) wife.
She said Ahiaba started inflicted knife wounds on the complainant until passers by went and rescued the victim.
Inspector Azuka said Ahiaba chased the complainant to the house of an elderly person in the town where he had taken refuge but some good Samaritans prevented him before he could cause more havoc.Source; GNA
