Centre for National Culture in collaboration with the European Union and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) said the first ever International Beads Festival would be celebrated at Odumase Krobo in the Eastern Region, from October 22 to 26.
In a media encounter, Nene Domer Siako II, Chairman of the LOC, said the week-long festival would include exhibitions among many other programmes which would be announced later.
According to him, the beads festival would be a platform to showcase Ghana’s rich heritage and promote Ghanaian made beads in the international world.
Nene Siako told newsmen that foreigners from the European Union and other international bodies would also be participating in the festival.
He said the festival would be celebrated annually, like any other local Ghanaian festival, and urged all Ghanaians to show keen interest in the event to make it a success.
