The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has arrived in New York, USA ahead of the United Nations High-Level Meeting on ending AIDS.
The meeting is expected to focus the world’s attention on the importance of fast-track approach to the AIDS response over the next five years.
Mr Amissah-Arthur will address the gathering and co-chair a panel discussion with the former President of the Republic of Fuji, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau on the theme AIDS within the SDGs: leveraging the end of AIDS for social transformation and sustainable development.”
A session of the meeting will be used to discuss how to accelerate local pharmaceutical production in ECOWAS sub-region and in the continent.
The meeting starts on June 8 to 10, 2016.
The Vice President is expected back over the weekend.
