The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has reiterated his commitment to reintroduce allowances for teacher and nursing trainees when given the mandate in the November 2016 polls.
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo said under his leadership, challenges facing both trainees will be a thing of the past.
The NPP leader disclosed this when he addressed students and faculty members of the Nursing and Midwifery School at Korle Bu.
Akufo-Addo criticised the Mahama-led administration saying it lacks the capacity to put to efficient use revenues generated from the oil and gas sector.
On his part, a former National Organizer of the NPP, Laud Commey was confident about the party’s chances of victory in the upcoming November polls.
He disclosed Akufo-Addo has been consistent with the issues he has been selling to Ghanaians over the years.
He said: “The issues that Nana Addo started way back in 2008 have not seen any improvement. It continues to deteriorate.”
As a result, he said, “Even in 2016 Akufo-Addo moves around, touching on the economy, jobs, and health.”
He remarked “I see some genuineness in the Ghanaian people this time around” because of the way they present their challenges to Akufo-Addo.
“Unlike those times when we do organise people, this time, these are people on their own,” he said.
