Asante Kotoko play Bechem United in their first all Premiership tie in this year’s MTN FA Cup.
The Porcupine Warriors have needed two penalty shoot out victories in their last three games to see them through to this stage.
Cup competitions have often shown they are no respecter of club form or status and Kotoko coach Michael Osei is well aware of this.
“It is a very important game because it is a knock out game. We are working very hard and I believe we will keep on working hard,” Osei said in a pre-game press conference.
The last tie between both clubs ended 1-0 in favor of Kotoko at Bechem with winger Frank Sarfo Gyamfi settling the tie for the Reds. Despite the victory, Kotoko were made to sweat and the stand in coach has been quick to remind his team of the task ahead.

“Tactically, we have to be disciplined because they are also a very good side. It was a tough game against them in Bechem.”
The game will be Kotoko’s first tie at home in the FA Cup this season and Osei, who has guided Kotoko to four wins out of five games in Kumasi is hoping for a repeat.
“It is advantage for us once we are playing at home. It is a game we must go with determination, character and make sure we focus solely on the game.”
Kotoko have scored four goals so far in the MTN FA Cup.
