The Ga Dangme Council has supported calls by the National House of Chiefs for the feuding parties in the Ga chieftaincy dispute to commit themselves to a resolution.
Some kingmakers have refused to recognize Nii Tackie Tawiah III, the Ga King, although the necessary traditional ceremonies have been performed to enstool him.
In an unprecedented move and a clear challenge to his authority, a second ritual was performed on Thursday to signify the lifting of the ban on drumming and noisemaking after he performed a similar one on Wednesday.
The President of the Ga Dangme Council, retired Diplomat, K.B. Asante says it is unfortunate that the conflict has taken this direction and told Joy News that even though the Council's efforts to bring peace have so far failed, it will continue in the interests of the Ga State.
