Erosion is destroying houses at Sessiman in Nkoranza, in the Brong Ahafo Region, and its posing a major threat to the livelihood of the people.
Distraught residents of the area are at their wits end and have appealed for assistance to save the rest of the houses from collapsing.
Efforts by the people to check the erosion have proved futile, as they lack the necessary technical advice and logistics.
Mr Thomas Owusu-Ansah, Assembly Member for the area, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Saturday that, the people organised a fund-raising durbar to solicit for resources to check the erosion, about six years ago, "yet the problem still exists".
He commended Mr Nick Danso Abeam, a citizen of the area for donating about GH¢ 20,000 to support work on the erosion project.
The Assembly Member appealed to the regional and district political authorities to come to their aid to save the lives of the people.
