Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Vincent Oppong Asamoah admits there is tension between the Ghana Football Association and his outfit.
Recently there have been issues of bonuses for players and committee members as well as the debate of who owns the national teams among the GFA and the Sports Ministry.
Oppong Asamoah in interview with Kumasi-based Nhyira FM noted that they are being compelled to stop financing the activities of the national teams following the current stand of the GFA.
“I feel the senior national team belongs to the state, the GFA also feel it belongs to them so that is where the misunderstanding is,” he told Nhyira FM
“But what I always say is that, if something is for government, the government takes care of it."
“And wherever government put resources, we have a say because it is the government that put us there."
“But if they feel the teams are not for government then I think we must not spend anything on the teams.”
