The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) has voted to suspend all the leagues in the country.
The decision follows the raid in the offices of the Ghana Football Association by the Economic and Organised Crimes Office (EOCO) on Tuesday.
Nine Computer System Units, files and other vital documents belonging to the FA were taken away by the EOCO after securing a court warrant via an ex-parte motion.
Chairman of GHALCA Rev Emmanuel Adotey confirmed the suspension of the leagues in an interview with Joy News’ Bernard Saibu on Wednesday.
Per the decision, the ongoing Glo Premier League which is in its final stages of the first round, the Division One, Two and Three, Leagues have all been suspended until further notice.
He said the seizure of the CPU's, documents have made it rather difficult for GHALCA to go ahead with the leagues.
Asked how the action by the EOCO directly affects GHALCA and the organisation of the league, Rev Adotey explained the CPU's contained the number of yellow or red cards players of the various teams have been shown in previous matches. He said the FA must be able to inform the various teams which players are eligible to play and which players are not, but they will not be able to do so because the reference point which is the CPUs have been taken away.
It is not clear when the decision will be reversed, but the EOCO has hinted it will return the seized items close of day Wednesday.
But as to whether the FA will want to use them when they are returned is another matter.
