After their disappointing performance at the 2010 African Women’s Championship in South Africa, the Black Queens will regroup today to begin preparations for next year’s Olympic Games qualifiers.
The Queens will camp for four weeks at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram ahead of their first qualifier against Guinea on January 19, 2011.
The technical handlers of the Queens have called up four players from the Black Princesses and two players from the Black Maidens to strengthen the team.
Head Coach of the Black Queens AK Adusei has defended the decision to draft the younger players into the team.
He said some of the old players had retired and that it was important to revamp the side by injecting fresh blood into the team.
