Chelsea have confirmed that their top of the table clash with Manchester United has been postponed after heavy snowfall in London.
The champions had been hoping to bounce back from a poor run against the league leaders but must now wait after their fixture fell victim to the weather, along with the majority of Premier League fixtures.
Only Sunderland's game against Bolton Wanderers and West Ham United's trip to Blackburn Rovers have survived the conditions after heavy snow hit most of the country.
Chelsea confirmed, via their website, that after speaking to the police and the local authority they had taken the decision to call off the game.
The champions have confirmed that refunds will be given although all tickets will remain valid once a new date has been confirmed.
Carlo Ancelotti's men are currently three points behind Manchester United, albeit having played a game more, and therefore miss the chance to reign in the league leaders who will spend Christmas Day at the top of the table.
