Hearts of Oak have with mutual understanding parted ways with Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin.
The decision was taken after a crisis meeting held at the team’s secretariat on Monday.
Hearts’ poor run in the league was worsened Sunday after a heart breaking 0-1 loss to Real Tamale United in the opening day of the second round of the Glo Premier League.
It was the first time in 33 years RTU beat Hearts at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium.
The Tamale based side had in the first round beaten the Phobians 2-1 in Tamale.
Sunday’s defeat appeared to have been the end of the straw for Coach Paa Kwesi Fabian.
A statement signed by the Administrative Manager of the club Ashford Tetteh Oku indicates assistant Tanko Shaibu would take temporary charge of the club and will be assisted by Anthony Allotey.
Public Relations Officer of the Club Albert Commey told Myjoyonline.com the decision was taken in a cordial atmosphere with neither side feeling aggrieved.
He said with the considerable effort put in place by management for player motivation the dip in form of the Phobians has been an element of surprise.
Mr. Commey cautioned adversaries not to rejoice too soon saying it is when Hearts is underestimated that they show their prowess.
He said the team still has its sights firmly on annexing the league title to crown their centenary celebrations but was quick to add, Hearts will not crumble if they don’t win the league.
He was hopeful the FA cup could help rediscover their form.
