Mr. Kpetigo is been given a 24 hour protection, surveillance and medical care with the scanty resource the police command in the district has become a burden to them.
The District Police Commander, DSP Rev John Opoku, told Asempa FM's reporter, Kwaku Antwi-Otoo, they have to guard him until the time he’s fit for prosecution.
DSP Rev Opoku explained that even thought the wound was not severe, the police would not be able to take him to court for prosecution as the prison does not accept remanded people who are wounded.
Mr. Kwasi Kpetigo, was reported to have used an axe to cut the throat of his wife, Yaa Diame, 60, in the room in which members of the family were sleeping.
Suspecting his wife of infidelity, Kpetigo was said to have used the axe to inflict several deep cuts at the back of her neck and head in the presence of their children.
