Some health extension workers under the National Youth Employment Programme in Tamale are questioning why officials are making them buy materials for their uniforms. They told Joy FM Correspondent Mahama Shaibu, each of them paid GH¢20 for the material for the uniform. The recruits did not understand why purchasing the fabric must be a condition for them to be given their appointment letters. But Deputy National Coordinator in charge of communications at the NYEP Ibrahim Mutala is shocked at what he says is an illegality. He told Joy News the perpetrators would be severely dealt with.“The uniforms are not for sale, the national head office gives the uniforms to all beneficiaries,” he stated.Source: Joy News/Ghana
