Police at the ministries here in Accra have granted bail to ten leaders of the Lotto Receivers Association.
They were arrested during a demonstration at the offices of the National Lottery Authority over a cut in their commissions.
The association’s Secretary Andrew Kwarteng told Joy News they are ready to face the law.
He said members of the association were law-abiding citizens and had no problems at all going to court.
Meanwhile, the Director General of the Lottery Authority, Kojo Andah has justified the decision to reduce the commission paid to the lotto receivers from 25 to 20 percent.
“For me there is nothing like cheating in this matter. It is a question of rationalizing and understanding the position of each party. Now we are saying that by the nature of the game that we run which we call the six odds, where the player of the game wins multiples of the amount invested in the business is not too good for the government,” he explained.
