The Chief of Gogo in the Bawku West District says he is keeping watch over a tree said to be the cause of weird happenings in the area.
The tree, which witnesses say transforms into a human being at night, is said to be terrorizing the inhabitants.
The deaths of two people in the area have been linked to an encounter they had with the strange tree on separate occasions.
Several others are said to be suffering from strange ailments after coming into contact with it.
The Chief of the area, Naba Akpaam Abugri who blames the development on the immoral lifestyle of the youth, told Joy News residents are now intent on felling the tree.
He said the elders of the community have narrated incidences of trees in the past that terrorized residents.
Naaba Abugri insisted the beliefs of the people cannot be condemned outright.
