The sixth draw of the Airtel Freedom To Dream promotion produced amazing results with two customers winning the highest cash prize of GHC25,000 each.
A statement from the company said one of the top winners was a 26-year old radio presenter with Max FM in Enchi, Michael Koah, and the other was 25-year-old Rahman Ahmed, a Kumasi-based auto mechanic.
“This feat was the first to be registered since the start of the promotion” the statement said, and that was also the first time a broadcaster or journalist has won any of the big prizes in any of the telecom promotions nationwide.
Two weeks ago, Muhammad Abass, a Pakistani Engineer working on the Bui Dam project won the first of the GHC 25,000 cash prizes, the statement said, adding “this brings the number of winners of the highest cash prize to three.”
The Marketing Manager responsible for Usage and Retention, Tara Squire said “so far, the response has been overwhelming and we are pleased to have empowered our customers to achieve their personal goals. This promotion has brought to fruition the individual hopes and aspirations of many Ghanaians”.
He told Adom News that there was still more money to be won, adding that Airtel could even decide at the end of the promotion to increase the prize money from the current GHC420,000 to put more money in the hands of customers to achieve their dreams.
One of the top winners, Rahman Ahmed said he would invest his prize money in a business venture, and Michael Koah hopes to support his brother’s university education as well as improve upon his present circumstances through further studies.
The other lucky winners for the week included Stephen Kwaah, a Kumasi-based businessman who won GHC7, 500. Joseph Nartey, a driver in Kumasi, Abdul Salam Iddi of Accra and Oppong Samuel from Kasoa each took home GHC5,000 while Ellen Mensah, a caterer in Tema and Paul Sefa of Nkawkaw also went away with GHC2,500 each.
The promotion is open to both new and existing Airtel customers. Customers get one entry anytime they recharge with GHC2 or talk for a minimum of 50Gp within 24 hours.
Many Airtel customers have also won other attractive prizes including brand new Nokia phones with one year supply of airtime, GHC 500 instant cash prizes and lots of airtime.
