An aspirant for national chairmanship of the Convention People’s Party, Professor Edmund Delle, has assured members of the party that he will prioritise investment in the youth of the party if voted into power to build their capacities ahead of future political roles and decision making in the party.
Prof Delle gave the assurance during the Eastern Regional congress of the party held in Koforidua.
“I will go all out to seek resources that will enable our great party to place premium on building the capacity of our youth to take the mantle of leadership in the future,” he stated.
As part of this commitment towards the youth of the party, he said, he would embark on intensive fund raising to organise capacity building workshops for the youth at all levels of the party.
He also pledged to blend the experiences of the old members with the creative ideas and energy of the youth as part of his efforts to foster unity within the party.
He assured the party that when voted to power he would embark on intensive fund raising to mobilise funds which would be used to rehabilitate old vehicles and purchase new ones for all the regional offices of the party.
Motorbikes would also be purchased for all the constituency offices of the party, he added.
That, he said, would make them more mobile and active in their day to day running of affairs of the party.
